Menorca Fest 2022
The Beginning
The first edition of The Yoga Gallery Menorca Fest was born from the conviction that Menorca was where it had to happen. An island capable of creating the necessary distance to see things from a different perspective, a place that invites you to pause and listen. The discovery of Lazaretto was the decisive push that turned an idea into reality. In May 2022, without yet knowing what would come next, we brought together the first people around an idea that was only beginning to take shape. These images document the birth of an unexpected adventure.

Dawn as Hope
The second edition, held between late September and early October, expanded the festival’s horizons. Lazaretto remained its beating heart, but new venues in Mahón, especially Es Claustre, hosted preliminary activities, evening gatherings and moments of shared experience that enriched the event.
It was also the year in which we introduced the concept of themed editions. Under the motto L’alba dentro l’imbrunire, inspired by Franco Battiato’s song Perspectiva Nevski, we explored yoga as a tool for facing addiction, depression and those moments when light seems hidden behind the fog. An edition that opened new questions and new paths.

Learning from Solitude
The third edition marked an important evolution in the festival’s format. The programme expanded, more simultaneous activities were introduced, and the festival began to adopt a structure that would gradually become firmly established.
Held in early June, a date that would become its natural place in the calendar, this edition revolved around solitude. Not as a problem to be solved, but as a profound human experience deserving observation and understanding. The photographs from those days capture moments of intimacy, unexpected encounters and shared spaces that shaped one of the festival’s most introspective editions.

What Is Love?
The fourth edition represented a significant leap forward. The number of participants grew considerably, and The Yoga Gallery began welcoming people from an ever-increasing number of countries. The project was no longer a reality known to only a few; it had become an international meeting point.
The question that ran through the entire festival was as simple as it was inexhaustible: What is love? Inspired by Haddaway’s famous song, this theme served as a guiding thread to explore relationships, affection, vulnerability and human connection. The format was now fully consolidated, and the community surrounding it was already showing extraordinary strength.

All that you have is your soul
The fifth edition was a celebration, but above all a confirmation. After five years, Lazaretto had ceased to be simply a unique venue and had become something closer to a shared home.
Intuition was the central theme of this edition, inspired by Tracy Chapman’s song All That You Have Is Your Soul. Perhaps because, after five years of growth, there are things that no longer need to be explained. The programme, spontaneous activities, conversations, hidden corners, the sea and moments of silence coexisted with a naturalness that would have been impossible to plan. These images capture precisely that: the feeling of having arrived at a place that, without intending it, has become part of many people’s lives.
